Knowing You

Knowing you

makes me want even more

for Heaven to be real -

I want you to last forever.

Someone like you

not lasting forever

would be one of the greatest tragedies.

Background:

This one was a little scribble from a year or so ago when, as often happens, I was considering how blessed I and my family are to have my nephew in our lives.

There are scriptures that talk about God delighting in His children. One of my favorites is in the context of God speaking to Jerusalem and her people:

'“For the Lord your God is living among you.

He is a mighty savior.

He will take delight in you with gladness.

With His love, He will calm all your fears.

He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”

Zephaniah 3:17

That’s our Father! Moved to sing from His delight in us. (Sidenote: the concept of God singing - I don’t have the right words or enough words for this thing I want so badly to experience in its fullness.)

All this to say that my nephew has given me the tiniest glimpse, but a glimpse so precious to me, of God’s love from His perspective. Delight!

I hope you experience delight from both sides today - delighting in and being delighted in.
